ECCE 6.3 apps won't start

I have installed ECCE 6.3 on our RHEL5-based cluster. I can successfully bring up the gateway and login, however, when I click the builder icon it says "Unable to start the application". I get the same error when I click the viewer icon. The organizer, machine browser, and periodic table icons all work. Where can I look to trouble-shoot the problem with builder and viewer?
